Susan Brewster is a senior managing director and team lead on the fixed income team at PPM America, Inc. (PPM). She is responsible for the credit coverage and investment recommendations for the E&P and oil field services sectors of the energy industry. She also manages a team of analysts focused on the coverage and analysis of other subsectors in the energy industry, as well as metals & mining and utilities for potential investment in various portfolios managed on behalf of investors globally. Susan joined the credit research team in 2000, from PPM’s private investments team where she was a portfolio administrator. Prior to joining PPM in 1997, she was a staff auditor at Ernst & Young and worked in treasury and capital markets audit at ABN AMRO. Susan earned a master’s degree in business administration with a concentration in finance from Northwestern University and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Miami University. She is a CFA® charter holder and has earned the CFA Institute Certificate in ESG Investing.

Angela Cantillon is currently Vice President, Investments and Enterprise Treasury for Wawanesa Mutual Insurance Company, a Canadian P&C company. She is responsible for co-leading the management of $7 billion of enterprise-wide invested assets in addition to leading the enterprise-wide Treasury function. Prior to joining Wawanesa, she was an Associate Partner at Aon Hewitt Investment Consulting. While at Aon, she managed the Chicago hedge fund team and was responsible for working with a number of large institutional clients on the construction of direct hedge fund portfolios. Prior to Aon Hewitt, Angela held a number of roles as both a consultant and allocator.
She holds a MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a B.S. degree in Finance from Northern Illinois University. She is a CFA charter holder, a CAIA charter holder, and is a member of the CFA Society of Chicago. Additionally, she volunteers her time with the Illinois Children’s Healthcare Foundation, is an active volunteer at her son’s primary school and has held various volunteer roles in community organizations on the Northwest side of Chicago.

Nízida has worked in investments in the financial services industry for nearly 30 years, including managing insurance and pension assets. She has held leadership roles at Nuveen Investments, Allstate, and Wespath Benefits and Investments.
She received an MBA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and is a board member of the School of Business External Dean Advisory Board. She has a bachelor's degree in Finance and Economics from the University of Puerto Rico and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.

Xiaowei Han joined TIAA as the Head of ALM in February 2019, where she leads the asset liability management function. Her team focuses on liability-driven investment strategies, interest rate risk management, economic capital framework, dividend optimization, stress testing, asset and derivatives modeling, economic scenario generation, and supporting various corporate initiatives.
Before joining TIAA, Xiaowei worked for Transamerica since 2008, gaining deep experience in variable and fixed annuities, universal life, retirement & pension, and institutional businesses. She led the universal life valuation and modeling functions and also headed the Enterprise ALM function, which focused on holistic hedging, ALM analytics and strategies, capital management, asset and derivatives modeling, and ALM reporting across all lines of business. Prior to this, she worked as a Financial Risk Manager responsible for identifying financial risk in ALM/hedging strategies, modeling, and pricing related to annuities, retirement, and institutional businesses. Her other responsibilities at Transamerica included managing general account investments and hedging programs, liquidity management, designing and implementing variable annuity hedging strategies, reinsurance, capital initiatives, as well as statutory reporting for variable and fixed annuities.

Kim Monstvil is a senior managing director and portfolio manager on the fixed income team at PPM America, Inc. (PPM). She is responsible for acquisition due diligence, client cash management, and working with asset class managers to achieve client objectives for accounts managed on behalf of the firm’s insurance clients. Prior to joining PPM in 1997, Kim was responsible for asset and liability management for the pension asset accumulation business and assisted with the liability management of the guaranteed interest contract portfolio at Aetna, Inc. Kim earned a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Chicago and a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Michigan. She holds the Fellow of the Society of Actuaries designation (FSA).

Ms. Mueller Handal joined Bayview Asset Management in 2023 to establish and lead the newly formed Insurance Asset Management group. Prior to joining Bayview, Ms. Mueller Handal was a Senior Managing Director and EVP at MetLife Investment Management, where she served as Global Head of Private Fixed Income and Alternatives from 2019 to 2023. In this role, Ms. Mueller Handal was responsible for private credit, infrastructure, private ABS, residential whole loan investment and securitization, alternative investments, investment management oversight, workouts, sustainable investment strategies and index strategies. From 2015 to 2019, she led the Global Structured Products and Alternatives groups at MetLife having advanced through numerous roles from 2000 to 2015 including the head of structured finance and alternatives, the head of RMBS, agency and non-agency RMBS trader and portfolio manager, and global ABS credit analyst. Some of her recent accomplishments featured growing the third party asset management business, including overseeing the establishment of a private equity fund of funds, building out a private ABS platform and building an Insurance industry leading residential whole loan platform.
Ms. Mueller Handal serves as the Chair of the Structured Finance Association’s Board of Directors and sits on the board of the Structured Finance Foundation. Prior to joining Bayview, she served as a member of the US Treasury Borrowing Advisory Committee (TBAC), which involved providing market feedback to the Treasury Department and Federal Reserve Board of Governors on a variety of fundamental and technical debt-related topics. In 2019, she received the Reggie Imamura Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Structured Finance Industry and in 2016 she was the MetLife recipient of Working Mother Magazine’s Working Mother of the Year.

Prior to joining First Eagle, Larry was a managing director and investment strategist at Nuveen Asset Management, and prior affiliate Symphony Asset Management. He joined Corebridge in 2014 as non-Americas Head of Investment Credit in the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) department and in 2017 was appointed as ERM Head of Investments Credit. Prior to Corebridge, Andrew spent 24 years at Barclays in various leadership positions in credit risk and portfolio management, structuring, treasury and corporate and real estate lending.

Farhad previously held visiting faculty position as Adjunct Professor of Finance at Drake University.

He also serves as a faculty member for the International Center for Captive Insurance Education. Greg began his career in 1987 and has served as Senior Portfolio Manager for the Institutional Asset Management arms of both SunTrust and Bank of America with a specialization in insurance company portfolio management. From there, he served as Managing Director and Chief Investment Officer for Sovereign Advisers and Lead Strategist and Director of Fixed Income for Boyd Watterson Asset Management. Greg earned a BS in Economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is a member of the CFA Institute.
Matt Pitzer

Shelter Insurance
Matt is the director of private market strategies for Shelter Insurance Companies, a P&C and Life insurer based in Columbia, Mo. The alternative investment portfolio represents approximately 20% of the firm’s $6.5 billion in insurance and corporate pension assets, focused on private equity, real estate and private credit. Matt is a CFA charterholder, has a B.A. in English from Davidson College and an MBA from the University of Missouri. He joined Shelter in 2010 and continues to recover from an earlier career as a sports journalist.
Brian Manczak
Portfolio Manager for Jackson National Life General Account
PPM America
Brian Manczak is a senior managing director, portfolio manager and head of insurance solutions on the fixed income team at PPM America, Inc. (PPM). He is responsible for overseeing the management of Jackson National Life Insurance Company’s general account and is responsible for asset allocation, capital management, risk management and the evaluation of new asset classes for the general account. Additionally, Brian is a portfolio manager for the Jackson National Life Insurance Company’s investment grade corporate bond portfolio. Previously, he was a senior member of PPM’s investment grade private credit team.
Prior to joining PPM in 2008, Brian worked in the investment banking department at Lehman Brothers and began his career at
Arthur Andersen. He earned a master’s degree in business administration from the University of North Carolina and a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance from Miami University (Ohio). He is a CFA® charterholder.

Mahir is a Senior Economist leading macro research, forecasting, and scenario analysis on the US economy. He supports Swiss Re's strategic planning and asset allocation with respect to market developments and the economic environment, and frequently speaks on economic related topics. His research includes monthly and quarterly US economic outlooks, along with frequent economic insights on current events and developments in the macro environment. Mahir is a key contributor to Swiss Re's flagship sigma reports – a research series on the insurance industry and macroeconomic trends. He has been cited in the Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, NPR, and other financial media outlets.
Mahir holds a master's degree from New York University and a bachelor's degree from Pace University.
